Belgium installed 170 MW PV capacity in 2016

In Belgium the total installed PV capacity amounted to 3.423 MW at the end of 2016. The cumulative installed capacity is 2.451 MW in Flanders, 916 MW in Wallonia, and 56 MW in Brussels, according to the latest figures released by Belgian renewable energy association Apere ( Association pour la promotion des énergies renouvelables).
Past year, the country installed about 170 MW across 25,000 PV systems (2015: 100 MW). Systems with less than 10 kW capacity represented over 61 percent of the installed capacity. In the year 2016, the Belgium produced 2.9 TWh of solar electricity that covered 3.7 percent of the country’s total electricity demand. © PHOTON
