SolisStorage Standard Combiner Box

The SolisStorage Standard Combiner Box is designed for installations where multiple SolisStorage IntelliHome batteries are connected in parallel. The combiner box combines the positive and negative connections of multiple batteries, providing a clear connection to the hybrid inverter. 

In a parallel connection, the positive and negative connections of the different batteries are connected to the positive and negative busbars respectively. Communication between the batteries takes place in a master-slave configuration.

Suitable for multiple IntelliHome batteries 

According to Solis, one Standard Combiner Box can be used for a maximum of:

• 5 × IntelliHome-5kWh-OD 
• 3 × IntelliHome-10kWh-OD 
• 3 × IntelliHome-16kWh-OD

According to the manual, the standard combiner box is intended for hybrid inverters up to and including 10 kW.

8 connection terminals 

The SolisStorage Standard Combiner Box features 8 terminals. The number of cables that can be connected depends on the cable cross-section used: 

 - With 25 mm² cables, two cables can be connected per terminal.  

 - With 35 mm² or 50 mm² cables, one cable can be connected per terminal.  

This allows the combiner box to be used to combine different IntelliHome configurations in a structured way.

When do you need a SolisStorage Combiner Box?

The IntelliHome-5kWh-OD itself has two battery ports. When connecting 5 kWh batteries in parallel, a combiner box is therefore not always necessary. However, without a combiner box, the maximum charging and discharging power of such a parallel battery system is 5 kW according to Solis, due to the cable limitation. 

With the Standard Combiner Box, up to five IntelliHome-5kWh-OD units can be connected in parallel. In this configuration, the maximum charging and discharging power of the battery system is 20 kW, with Solis indicating that this is limited by the number of cable ports on the combiner box.
